About US

2016-09-02-06-44-52-2-1Elizabeth:

I’m the mom of a sweet little girl named Hannah and a small scale CSA farmer. I grew up in Franklin County, Pennsylvania then ventured north to study at Sarah Lawrence College where, somewhere in between my studies and the streets of New York City, I fell in love with farming.  A few years later, while studying at Harvard Divinity School, I made a conscious choice to return to the region where I was raised, to start a community farm, and to give back to the community where I was from. So here I am, just a few miles outside of Gettysburg, and only 20 miles from where I was raised. When I’m not tending to things at Amazing Heart Farm, you can find me at  Painted Turtle Farm, the Gettysburg College student farm – it’s a pretty amazing place. I also enjoy being on the Board of Directors for Certified Naturally Grown.

Hannah:

Born May 29, 2015, Hannah is sweetest little person I’ve ever met. And her laughter is the best sound that I have ever heard. In all my life.

Maria:

This lovely lady usually rolls in early, especially on harvest days. Sometimes with her sweet boxer/terrier mix named Petunia. Her beautiful blue eyes & quiet strength keep me centered when it feels like there are suddenly so many things to do, and all at once. She studied abroad in England while pursuing a Bachelor in Fine Arts and she always has creative and new ideas to try at AHF. This year? Cut Flowers. When she isn’t here, you might find her at Fidler & Co. – venture there and you’ll experience the best farm to table food in Adams County.

Our 2017 Summer Interns

Sophie:

Meet Sophie! The plants love her and so do we. She’s a rising junior at Gettysburg College, where she’s majoring in chemistry. She loves growing & enjoying foods that she can trust are healthy, nutritious, and delicious. She believes everyone should have access to sustainably grown, healthy food. We’re delighted to have her with us at AHF and we look forward to exchanging knowledge, sharing good food, and savoring these summer months.

    Hi there!
I’m interested in your CSA crop sharing. I live near Gettysburg, but it’s still a drive, so I’m wondering if you can email your location to me to see if it’s something I think I can make happen on a weekly basis or if I should shoot for biweekly. Thanks!
