I’m the mom of a sweet little girl named Hannah and small scale community farmer. I grew up in Franklin County, Pennsylvania then ventured north to study at Sarah Lawrence College where, somewhere in between my studies and the streets of New York City, I fell in love with farming. A few years later, while studying at Harvard Divinity School, I made a conscious choice to return to the region where I was raised, to start a community farm, and to give back to the community where I was from. So here I am, just a few miles outside of Gettysburg, and only 20 miles from where I was raised. When I’m not tending to things at Amazing Heart Farm, you can find me at Painted Turtle Farm, the Gettysburg College student farm – it’s a pretty amazing place.
Born May 29, 2015, Hannah is sweetest little person I’ve ever met. And her laughter is the best sound that I have ever heard. In all my life.
This lovely lady usually rolls in early, especially on harvest days. Sometimes with her sweet boxer/terrier mix named Petunia. Her beautiful blue eyes & quiet strength keep me centered when it feels like there are suddenly so many things to do, and all at once. She studied abroad in England while pursuing a Bachelor in Fine Arts and she always has creative and new ideas to try at AHF. This year? Cut Flowers.
A CSA member from the very beginning, Elizabeth and her husband John value fresh local foods grown organically.
